Upcoming First Friday Art Walk is the opening for my show "Random Order" at the Art Annex on Willamette St, just south of the Hult Center... 5:30 to 7:30, see a compendium of my latest bright things: tile mosaic mirrors and wall panels, paintings inspired by last year's county fair, art sticks, new greeting cards, new books of my photos & art, bracelets, all filled with the happiness of upcoming summer! 'Incognito' will play our ecclectic blend of music with a past: Jorge Navarro, Mark West and Lynn Peterson. Please come celebrate! (Already have two red dots! Hooray!) Show runs June 1st to the 30th.

Installed the mosaics for the donor wall at the new Relief Nursery in Springfield, off 42nd and Main....It looks terrific, if I do say so, and I am delighted with how it 'grew' as an art project...there will be an opening in September for the public.

The building is just beautiful and I hope many children and their  parents will benefit from this program, going on to live inspired new lives.

Planting Tomatoes!

Last year: tomatoes in October
Yesterday I picked up more exotic tomato plants at Saturday Market. Last year's fun was growing an assortment of stripped and otherwise oddly colored tomatoes.. slowest ones were the Berkeley Tie Die (probably stoned), took 85 days to produce. Late cold spring was a slow start. I covered things every night in October to get them to ripen... Japanese Chocolate Truffle tasted, yep, like tomatoes, lovely dark maroon. I canned tomato peach salsas and sugarless ketchup of various colors...yummmm

Show at the Gov's in Salem

"Mock up" of my pieces in the Gov's lobby
This may be the biggest honor I've had as an artist. Chosen to be one of six artists this year to display their work at the Governor's Office in our state capitol building , Salem, Oregon. Show hangs May 9th through June 19th, Mon-Fri 9-5

It's in the big building with the golden pioneer on top! Lobby to Gov's office is upstairs directly opposite the entry doors.

This is a big deal!...won't be a reception as it's a busy place with the Senate in session, people in and out but I'd be glad to drive up to make a day of it. Cool eh?
